On the occasion of International Mother Language Day 2011, Monday, February 21 by 10 am to 13 at the National Museum of Italian Emigration to the Victorian Room Zanardelli - Piazza Ara Coeli 1, the conference will be held on the subject of Native language and immigration with the intention of analyzing the relationship between the mother tongue of immigrants in Italy and Italian, adoptive language.
It does draw attention to the situation of the languages \u200b\u200bof immigrants in Italy, which can be configured as a new linguistic minorities, other than historical ones. It will be interesting to see how and if they are preserved by the second and third generations of immigrants, and what relationship they have with the language of origin and of adoption with the Italian language.
Day will be a moment of awareness, reflection and discussion, mostly young people in particular.
The theme of linguistic diversity and the value of the mother tongue will be addressed through the new experience of Italians, whose path of integration has resulted in an experience of interaction and exchange of cultures.
